Get answers to common questions about Hands IPL.
Most clients require 6–10 sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart, depending on hair thickness, skin tone and treatment response. Hands often respond well, so you'll notice progressive reduction after a few treatments, with optimal, long-term results after the full series.
Most clients describe mild warming or a snapping sensation; pain is minimal. We use cooling tips, adjustable energy settings and topical numbing on request to keep you comfortable. Sessions are short, and any temporary redness or sensitivity typically subsides within a few hours.
IPL works best on contrast between dark hair and lighter skin. Modern machines and tailored settings extend safety across many skin tones, though very light, gray, or red hair responds poorly. A consultation and patch test determine suitability and optimal settings.
Avoid sun exposure, tanning and self-tanners for two weeks. Shave the treatment area 24–48 hours before your appointment and avoid waxing or plucking for several weeks. Inform us about medications or photosensitizing products to ensure safe treatment planning.
Keep treated skin protected from sun with SPF 30+ and avoid direct UV exposure for at least two weeks. Use gentle moisturizers, avoid hot baths and exfoliation for 48–72 hours, and report prolonged redness or blistering to our team immediately.
IPL causes long-term, significant hair reduction by disabling follicles, but 'permanent' varies. Many achieve lasting thin or no regrowth after full treatment, though occasional maintenance may be needed. Results depend on biology, hair color, and adherence to recommended sessions.
